Credit card car rental insurance
All major credit card companies offer car rental insurance included in their credit card agreement. As a rule, business/corporate cards come with primary coverage while personal payment cards with secondary coverage. If your credit card provides you with primary coverage, you do not need to contact your personal insurance agent and in this way any possible collision doesn't affect your premium. In order to qualify for credit card collision insurance, you must decline the CDW offered by the car hire company.
CC insurance doesn't cover exotic, luxurious and classic cars.
There is a lot of confusion regarding the coverage of Loss of Use and Towing Charges. You are likely to hear from your car rental agency that these are not covered by the CC but the opposite is usually true - be sure to check this before renting.
Important: your credit card insurance is only applicable if you actually use the card to rent your car!
